This is my favorite tree in the city. This particular stretch of the path between the cycle barrier and cobbles besides the lamb and flag is lovely to walk on. Not very scenic on the sides with boring gates and that hideous, modern accommodation by St. John’s. I have nothing against modern architecture, but that building couldn’t look more pre-fab if it tried.
The tree, which is the main focus of the photo, looks AWESOME in every.single.season. However, I am most fond of the bare look it pulls off in fall and winter. And you just can’t avoid looking at it when walking here. It asks for attention.
